Our 6 Days Uganda wildlife safari Queen Elizabeth National Park & Bwindi gorilla safari Uganda will start and end in Kampala; the Capital city of Uganda. There are several activities to do during the 6-days safari Uganda including; a gorilla trekking safari in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, Bwindi is home to over 340 mountain gorillas with four main groups of mountain gorillas to be trekked. Mountain gorillas are amazing calm animals placed in the beautiful land of Bwindi Impenetrable National Park and the adjacent Virunga massif. Bwindi Forest has over 16 habituated gorilla families well distributed in the 4 different regions of Buhoma, Ruhija, Nkuringo and Rushaga. Bwindi Impenetrable National Park is the best destination for gorilla trekking tours in Uganda and around the world since it hosts the biggest number of mountain gorillas. Alongside the gorillas, the park is also home to other globally threatened species including the L’Hoest’s monkey, common chimpanzee, African giant swallowtail, Chaplin’s flycatcher, African green broadbill, Grauer’s Rush Warbler, Cream-banded swallowtail and African Elephant. You will also visit Queen Elizabeth National Park that holds Uganda’s greatest biodiversity of wildlife including the tree climbing lions, buffaloes, leopards, elephants and hippos. Alongside wildlife, you will have an exciting launch cruise on the Kazinga channel that enables you explore several water bird species.

Day 1: Transfer from Kampala with your driver guide to Queen Elizabeth National Park. You will break your journey at the Equator with lunch en route in Mbarara at Igongo cultural centre

 Day 3: Do chimpanzee trekking tour at Kalinzu in Queen Elizabeth National Park and later transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park to your lodging facility

Detailed Itinerary of the 6 Days Uganda wildlife safari Queen Elizabeth National Park & Bwindi gorilla safari Uganda

Day 1 of the 6 Days Uganda wildlife safari Queen Elizabeth National Park & Bwindi gorilla safari Uganda: Transfer from Kampala with your driver guide to Queen Elizabeth National Park. You will break your journey at the Equator with lunch en route in Mbarara at Igongo cultural centre

For us to achieve without missing any activity, you must be up so early in the morning and take breakfast so that you are ready by 5am in the morning. Our Uganda safari guide will pick you up in the morning from your hotel, give you a short briefing about your 6 days Uganda wildlife safari tour. After the briefing, you will set off for your journey with a stopover at the equator in Kayabwe where you will have an opportunity to stand in two hemispheres at the same time, take some photos, have a polar water experiment and have a brief tour at some art and craft shops located around where you will purchase some souvenirs if you wish. Continue with your journey to Mbarara where you will have lunch and then proceed to Queen Elizabeth at your prior booked hotel/ lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 2 of the 6 Days Uganda wildlife safari Queen Elizabeth National Park & Bwindi gorilla safari Uganda: Do an early morning game drive in Queen Elizabeth Park return to the lodge for breakfast, relax and do an afternoon boat cruise along the Kazinga channel

Early in the morning at around 6am, you will be picked by your driver guide at your lodging facility for your early morning game drive in the park. Early morning game drives are very rich as you will be able to catch a glimpse of the early risers and late-night hunters before they go into hiding or before they start off with their daily activities in the jungle. You will see many animals including Elephants, Uganda kobs, Antelopes, baboons, buffaloes, warthogs, tree climbing lions and several birdlife. The morning game drive lasts about 3-4 hours depending on your interests. Return to the lodge for breakfast, relax and have your lunch there. In the afternoon after your lunch, you will do a boat cruise along the Kazinga channel; a river that connects Lake Edward and Lake George. While on the boat, expect to see lots of water animals including; hippos and crocodiles. You will also see lots wildlife along the river banks as they quench their thirst. As part of your adventure still, you will also sight a variety of bird species along the shores. All these moment s will leave you with unforgettable memories. The boat cruise takes about 2 hours and after you will return to the lodge, dine and overnight.

Day 3 of the 6 Days Uganda wildlife safari Queen Elizabeth National Park & Bwindi gorilla safari Uganda: Do chimpanzee trekking tour at Kalinzu in Queen Elizabeth National Park and later transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park to your lodging facility

You will wake up very early and have your breakfast, thereafter head to the park headquarters before 8:00 am for briefing concerning your chimpanzee tracking safari Uganda. After briefing, you will immediately start off your search of the Chimpanzees, these have a 98%DNA close to that of human beings. While trekking chimpanzees you will also have a great opportunity of seeing other primates such as the grey cheeked Mangabeys, golden monkeys, red-tailed monkeys, L’Hoest’s monkeys, bush babies among others, you will also be able to spot various bird species while in this forest such as the green breasted pitta, the rumped tinker bird, among others. After trekking, head back to the headquarters and start your journey to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park to your prior booked hotel for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 4 of the 6 Days Uganda wildlife safari Queen Elizabeth National Park & Bwindi gorilla safari Uganda: Do your gorilla safari tour in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park and transfer to Lake Bunyonyi to your area of stay

On this day you are required to wake up early, by 6:00am, have breakfast at the lodge, and have your lunch packed. You driver guide will pick you up by 7am and transfer you to the park headquarters. You will be briefed by the ranger guide about the do’s and don’ts of the park. Thereafter, you will proceed with the ranger to look out for the mountain gorillas and this involves hiking up and down rugged paths whereby you will need to be physically fit and also carry a walking stick with you. When you meet these gentle giants, you are restricted to 1 hour with them as you enjoy watching the mothers feed the young ones, the juveniles playing and the silver backs guarding the territory. Finding the gorillas depends on where the gorillas are located and feeding from so it roughly takes about 2-8 hours. Don’t forget to carry bottled water, a rain coat, sturdy shoes, long sleeved trousers, and snacks/packed lunch. After tracking, you will transfer to Lake Bunyonyi, relax, dine and spend your night there.

Day 5 of the 6 Days Uganda wildlife safari Queen Elizabeth National Park & Bwindi gorilla safari Uganda: Explore Lake Bunyonyi by taking a nature walk in the forest and an afternoon boat cruise/ dugout canoe

After breakfast at your hotel or lodge, head to the nearby forest for a nature walk where you will come across several plant species, monkeys, birds and many others. return to the lodge for lunch as you prepare for a boat cruise in the afternoon. You will transfer to Lake Bunyonyi where you will do a boat cruise giving you chance to explore this lake with over the 29 islands. The word “Bunyonyi” means place of little birds and while there, expect to see several birds. The lake alone has over 200 confirmed species of birds. During this boat cruise, you will see quite a number of birds like the grey crowned crane, red-chested sunbirds, and many flycatchers. Your guide will also tell you a lot of stories about Lake Bunyonyi including the Akampene punishment Island. Return to the lodge, relax, dine and spend your night there.

Day 6 of the 6 Days Uganda wildlife safari Queen Elizabeth National Park & Bwindi gorilla safari Uganda: Transfer back to Kampala to your hotel or at the airport for your flight

After an early morning breakfast, you will drive back to Kampala with a stopover in Mbarara town for lunch and finally to your lodge or to the airport for your flight.
