Detailed Itinerary of the 6 Days Uganda gorilla safari Mgahinga, Lake Bunyonyi safari & Mburo Queen Elizabeth Wildlife safari tour

Day 1: Transfer from Kampala to Lake Mburo National Park Uganda

Have breakfast at your hotel in the morning, meet and greet with your driver guide who will give you a short briefing about your 6 Days Uganda gorilla safari Mgahinga, Lake Bunyonyi safari & Mburo Queen Elizabeth Wildlife safari tour. After the briefing, transfer with your Uganda safari guide to Lake Mburo National Park Uganda, located at about 235km from Kampala driving for about 4-5hours without the stopovers. You will then travel westwards through Uganda’s beautiful green scenery heading, have a break in your journey at the Equator for an opportunity to stand in two hemispheres at the same time, have a polar water experiment, as wells have look at the souvenir shops with lots of art and craft makings. You will continue through the savannah grasslands with lots of banana plantations and several herds of local long horned Ankole cattle endemic to this part of the country. You will have lunch in Mbarara at Igongo Hotel and then continue with your journey to Lake Mburo National Park for your afternoon boat at 2pm along Lake Mburo rich with a variety of animals such as hippos and crocodiles and bird species. After the boat, you will check in your accommodation for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 2: Do a game drive in the park and an after boat along Lake Mburo National Park

Wake up very early in the morning, and get ready for an early morning game drive in the park as early 6: 30am for about 3 hours. During your game drive, you will have wonderful views of several early morning risers and other wildlife that habit the park including; Impalas, Burchell's zebras, antelopes, topi, Bushbuck, common duiker, Buffalos, to mention but a few. After the game drive, return to the lodge, relax, and have lunch as you prepare for your boat cruise along Lake Mburo. During the boat cruise, you have many chances to sightseeing animals like the hippos, topis, crocodiles, buffaloes and many other birds along the shores of the lake. This is a two hours amazing experience. Retire and return to the lodge for dinner, relax and spend your night there.

Day 3: Do a game drive in the Lake Mburo National Park and later transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park

Wake up to a relaxed breakfast in the morning, as you prepare for to go to Queen Elizabeth National Park Uganda with a game drive in the park as you leave this part of the world. Arrive in the park at your chosen accommodation place.

Day 4: Morning game drive in the Park and do an afternoon boat cruise along the Kazinga channel

You will set off early from your hotel at about 6.30am for a morning game drive, an awesome experience to spot the animals in natural habitats. Expect to see 4 of the famous Big Five game; Elephant, Buffalos, Lions, Leopards and others including Bush bucks, Kobs, Giant forest hog, Hyenas leopards, antelopes, and Waterbucks as well as birds. You will return for breakfast and relax till lunch. In the afternoon you will take a launch cruise along the amazing Kazinga channel to see the water animals like Hippos, Buffalos, Crocodiles and elephants’ bathing on along the channel banks. Kazinga Channel also has variety of bird species on the water banks especially the pelican and Jacana. The boat cruise takes about 2-3 hours. Retreat from the activity and return to your hotel/lodge for your dinner and overnight stay.

Day 5: Transfer from Queen Elizabeth National Park to Mgahinga National Park Uganda

After breakfast at the lodge, your driver guide will pick at the lodge and transfer you to Mgahinga National Park at yout lodging facility.

Day 6: Do gorilla trekking in Mgahinga Forest and transfer to Lake Bunyonyi for a boat cruise along the magical Lake Bunyonyi

You will wake up early in the morning and take breakfast at your hotel/lodge, get your lunch packed. The Uganda gorilla trekking safari activity starts at 8am. Your driver guide will pick you up at your lodge and drive you to the park headquarters for briefing about your gorilla safari Uganda especially about the do’s and the don’ts of the gorilla trekking activity. You will then be led into the forest by the pack rangers in search for your habituated gorilla group. Habituated gorillas can tolerate presence of people for just a little time every day. Upon sighting them, you will be restricted to an hour with them. In this hour, you will have an opportunity to watch them feed, play, build their nests, shy away from you which gives you an opportunity to photograph each moment that catches your eye. Coming face-to-face with a mountain gorilla is a truly humbling and emotional experience. This is a fantastic and privileged opportunity to get up close and personal with Uganda’s very own ‘Gorillas in the Mist’. Retreat from the activity and return to the lodge. after breakfast, you will drive to Lake Bunyonyi located in Kabale district and believed to be the deepest Lake in Uganda. Lake Bunyonyi is seen as the best place to relax after your gorilla trek. A boat cruise will take you to several islands located in Lake Bunyonyi each with its different history. You may also choose to hike hills surrounding Lake Bunyonyi or do some birding.

Day 7: Transfer from Lake Bunyonyi back to Kampala

Today marks the end of your 6 Days Uganda gorilla safari Mgahinga, Lake Bunyonyi safari & Mburo Queen Elizabeth Wildlife safari tour. You will be transferred to Entebbe International Airport for your departure flight out of Uganda or at your Hotel as you will advise.
