Mountain
gorillas in Uganda are mainly found in Bwindi impenetrable national
park and in Mgahinga national park . These parks have got variety of
mountain gorillas which have continuously attracted many gorilla trekking safaris to Uganda. There are over 100 mountain gorillas which are found in Bwindi impenetrable national park and they have contributed high revenues to the country.
Mountain gorillas can
be preserved and conserved through reducing the threats which affect
them in the country. These threats include; the diseases which attack
the gorillas,
Habitant loss is also another threat which has greatly affected the
mountain gorillas, poaching is also impacting the mountain gorillas, and
the conflicts which have led to killing most of them. All this has
brought about reduction in the number of the mountain gorillas hence
reduced gorilla safaris to Uganda.
There are many organizations which have come up with different projects to help in conserving and preserving the mountain gorillas in
the country. This has been done through encouraging the local
communities to engage in the conservation and preservation of these
primates. This has greatly helped in increasing the number of tourists
who come for safaris to Uganda.
Mountain gorillas
have got different characteristics especially in the way they feed, in
their behaviours, habitants, and many more, so this means that in order
to maintain them; the management should put in a lot of efforts in order
to promote the conservation and preservation of the primates.
