Conservation leading to increased mountain gorillas in Uganda-Gorilla safari news
The population
of the mountain gorillas has greatly increased in number and this has
greatly helped in attracting more people to come for gorilla trekking safaris to Uganda, which in return has helped in increasing the revenues of the country hence developing the tourism sector.
Uganda Wildlife Authority which is the body responsible for the conservation and preservation of the mountain gorillas
has worked so hard to protect these endangered species. Mountain
gorillas live in only three places, and they are Bwindi impenetrable
national park in Uganda, and others live in volcanoes national park and
also in Virunga national park, all these have greatly attracted many gorilla tracking safaris.
There
are over 100 mountain gorillas in Bwindi impenetrable national park and
these have been conserved and preserved by the park management which
has helped in increasing the number of gorilla safaris to Uganda. The local people have been encouraged to protect the mountain gorillas which has helped in maintaining their numbers.
The minister for Tourism has greatly encouraged the people to conserve the mountain gorillas
since it’s the main source of exchange revenues to the country.
Therefore Uganda wildlife authority has greatly put in efforts to help
in protecting the mountain gorillas since they have greatly improved the
tourism sector in Uganda and also increased gorilla trekking tours.
