The tourism players in Uganda welcome the 30 billion shillings budget – Uganda safaris news
The
Uganda Tourism Board the body that is charged with the duty of
promoting Uganda as a great tourism destination to attract counts of
world travelers to undertake safaris to Uganda
along with other sector players of recent has been in joyous moods
following the allocation of 30 billion Shillings to the tourism sector
in the just released national budget.
The entire tourism players including tour operators welcomed the government’s move noting that it is a rightful gesture that will see the tourism sector performance increase and the safaris in Uganda flourish.
The 30.8 billion Shillings is seen as a good input the single sector at least for the start that will not only contribute to the accomplishment of the tourism sector developments including increasing the foreign exchange earnings but also reduce on the unemployment rates in the country. Tourism is among the first industries that have got higher multiplier effect and with the potential to employ more people than other industries. The enhancement of marketing efforts means that the number of Uganda safari tour undertakers will increase and the revenue will increase too along with investments in the sector that come along with jobs.
The Government through the Finance Minister Matia Kasaija notes that the move is to facilitate the ten (10) year tourism master plan that was released of recent along with a five (5) year sector development plan that will see the critical activities implemented in order to ensure tourism growth in the country.
