The
Eleventh (11th) edition of the gorilla naming ceremony that has been
happening every year pulling counts of world travelers to undertake gorilla safaris in Rwanda is this time noted to take place on 5th September 2015 according to Rwanda Development Board.
The gorilla naming ceremony which has gained a firm ground in Rwanda as a Rwanda safari product of its own is expected this time to go regional attracting lots of travelers in the region as the twenty four (24) mountain gorilla babies are being named.
The countries under the Northern Corridor Integration Projects commenced a single tourist Visa in January 2014 with the intention of eliminating travel barriers between the countries for world travelers including those that would be interested in Rwanda safaris and tours or safaris in Rwanda at the same time. The single tourist Visa for the three countries of Uganda, Rwanda and Kenya is priced at $100. The Kwita Izina Ceremony is set to benefit from this integration project and pull a wider attendance form the region.
As Rwanda is set to mark the event, Yamina Karitanyi, the head of Tourism in the Rwanda Development Board calls upon the natives of Rwanda to embrace gorilla safaris in Rwanda and get to know more about their country. The Kwita Izina event will be marked by a series of activities including the Inka Z’URwanda which is a cultural function that brings out the significance of cows in the Rwanda traditional society. Other activities will include; the conservation forum, a business exhibition, a photo exhibition, regional tourism business to bossiness forum and the familiarization trip. These are expected to impress the travels that would be on Rwanda safaris and tours by that time.
The Kwita Izina awards would also be launched at the function to commend the efforts of local conservationists towards conservation of wildlife and tourism. The Rwanda Development Board under the umbrella of trans-boundary collaboration will undertake the counting of Mountain gorillas later this year. This will be a picture of the continuity of gorilla trekking safaris in Rwanda.
