A famous French tourism school to establish a campus in Kigali – Rwanda safari news

The Rwanda’s tourism and hospitality sector which is one of the great revenue contributors to the economy of the country because of good amounts of dollars generated from Rwanda safari undertakers is set to have a boost with the establishment of Vatel which is an International Tourism School based in France.
Rwanda is indeed gifted to be the first country in the Sub Saharan Africa where this re-known school is to have a branch. The move which was affirmed by the Director of Vatel Raynaud Azema who noted that the group’s extension to Africa has come up after a wider consultation from the Higher Education Council officials, officials from Rwanda tourism Board – the body that aims at increasing the number of travelers taking safaris in Rwanda and the range of local hotel operators.
Vatel School will be aimed at creating solutions to the needs of the tourism industry in the region which is steadily growing. And that owing to the hotel sector growth in Rwanda and the region, Vatel might become the center of tertiary education in the region.
The establishment of this International Institution comes at a time when Rwanda is aiming at transforming her hospitality sector such that the travellers on safari in Rwanda encounter quality service that definitely contribute to their satisfaction. For example the country is apparently running the Meetings, Incentives, Conferences and Events (MICE) initiative where it has target of $150 million this year which will account for 16% of the total foreign exchange earnings for Rwanda.
The Vatel International School comes at a time when the tourism experts have been calling for overhaul in the Rwanda’s hospitality sector in order to enable her realize the set goals including that of increasing safaris to Rwanda. The head of the MICE division Frank Murangwa noted in appreciation that improving the service quality is a key to increased Rwanda safaris and tours.
The Vatel School has got a global repute for 30 years of experience in the field of tourism and hospitality operating 28 campuses around the world including; Los Angeles, Paris, Singapore, Buenos Aires, Moscow, Switzerland, Mauritius and Montreal. The institute offers the students an opportunity to spend the second year of their study at a different campus to gain international exposure.
