Construction of the dams to kill Rafting on River Nile -Uganda Safaris & Tours updates

NILE_PORCH_RAFTING3The tourism stake holders in Uganda and the local authorities have greatly disagreed with the establishment of the dam on River Nile since it will threaten Rafting which is a great tourist activity which has attracted many safaris to Uganda. This will help in increasing the revenues of the country.
These say that the establishment of the dam will bring about effects to the people around and also to the environment since environment Impact Assessment was not carried , this mighty bring about disturbance in the activity since the water will have many machines which will affect the rafters. This will affect Safaris in Uganda.
White water rafting is considered to be one of Uganda‘s trademark adventure activities and this activity has been affected since Bujjagali dam was established which caused about flooding the famous bujjagali falls which turned the River into the lakewhere previously dozens of rafts every day raced over the rapids, providing thrills to tourists from around the world. This used to attract many safari tours to Uganda which helped in increasing revenues of the country.
The effect of the dam on the tourism sector is too high since Rafting and kayaking bring in many visitors from all over the world to Uganda, this is because the Nile has been known to be the River of wonders which has been attracting many safaris in Uganda, since there are many activities which can be carried out by the tourists.
