Ugandan Govt Urged to Diversify Tourism Sector-Prime Uganda safari Updates

touch-by-gorillaIn order to promote the Uganda safaris sector, the government should come up with strategies to diversify the tourism industry. This should be done in order to attract more tourists and increase the sector's competitiveness on the regional market.
This is because mountain gorilla tracking safaris are the most sold tourism product/activity in Uganda, is not enough to promote tourism in Uganda, more products need to be developed in order to encourage more safaris to Uganda apart from the trekking gorillas. There is a need to increase the tourism products to attract more visitors and manage to compete on the regional market. This can be done through improving service delivery the hospitality sector like hotels. This will help to increase on the safaris booked to Uganda.
The major country's tourist attractions are Mountain gorillas, the National parks like; Murchison falls, Kibale National park for chimp trekking, Lake Mburo National park, Kidepo national park, rivers and Lakes, cultural sites and many others. In addition Uganda’s Ecosystem can generate more income for the country if well developed.
In order to increase and market safaris in Uganda, other products like Sports tourism needs to be developed and other new products. Tourism in East Africa is among the highest earners in terms of investments, with enormous employment opportunities. The growth of the sector is expected to increase with the introduction of regional single tourist visa.
The projected single visa would save potential tourists time and the rigorous process of having to move from one embassy to another to apply for visas to regional countries. Uganda is expected to spearhead the establishment of the EAC single visa.
Furthermore, there is a need for investors to understand the operations of hotels. Some investors are after money instead of providing quality services to clients. Most of the hotels are managed by family members and these are people who are not knowledgeable about the sector, this has in return affected the safaris because most visitors complain about poor services in hotels.
