Tips on how to keep your baby happy during a flight-Uganda Safari News

Motherhood or parenting should not be a limit to travel. Many parents with kids cannot have their vacations as usual because they have babies and wonder how they will get on board with them. It can be an anxiety inducing adventure especially if the baby is under two (2) years and travelling on your laps. Travel to Uganda for instance is always rewarding with the tropical climate and many attractions in the country. Mothers and those with young babies shouldn’t be left out on the amazing holidays because of the long flights that might irritate the baby, here is a travel guide for how to keep your baby happy during a flight for ages about 8-18months;

What to carry to keep your baby happy during a flight

Cary lots of favorite snacks

Make sure you carry lots of favorite snacks to munch on during the flight. Bringing in new snacks to try out can also create a lot of excitement and wonder as well for the babies.

Carry some colored sticky notes

Children love colorful things therefore carrying colored sticky notes to pull apart and stick around is always entertaining. Let them play around with the sticky note pad, pluck and have fun just as long as they don’t stick them in the wrong places.

Carry some new board and magnetic sticker books

 As young as 8 months, babies are not able to read but can get excited with books. Carry new board books or tiny books for small hands, magnetic sticker books, coloring books or activity books to keep them busy.

Wrap up little trinkets/jewels

Get some trinkets and wrap them such that you can task them to unwrap while on the plan. You can carry wrapping material and wrap after going through security. Wrapping as they watch makes them even inquisitive on what is being kept away from them and can help them get more curious with unwrapping.

Pack a few new small toys

Seeing something new that belongs to them excites babies and therefore, carry some new small toys with a texture they can handle and play with and they will keep busy.

Give them the chance to play in your seat.

As long as it’s safe, stand up and give the little one’s chance to roam in your chair. This gives them the chance to feel free and not get stuck in one place.

Take a walk along the passageways

Walk the aisles periodically to let them explore and stretch. There always seems to be a few friendly people on the plane who will engage with your baby for even a minute or two; this helps pass the time!

 If all else fails, load some baby friendly apps

 If all else fails, load some baby friendly apps on your tablet or smart phone to keep them occupied or distracted. Your baby will hopefully get a nap for minutes on the flight but then its good to plan for the waking times to avoid being uncomfortable during this time.

Mothers along with their kids can enjoy to travel and go for safaris. Unfortunately, they can’t get with the kids to every destination for instance on a gorilla trekking safari in Uganda that requires a minimum age of 15. Here then you need to plan early for kid friendly activities. For wildlife safaris in Uganda kids can enjoy game drives along with their parents.
