The 32km Kazinga Channel of Queen Elizabeth National Park is a haven to the numerous wildlife species that survive in Queen Elizabeth National Park. For the aquatic wild animals this 32km long Kazinga Channel is home and to the wild animals that live in the park this is the perfect point to quench thirst. Queen Elizabeth National Park where the Kazinga Channel is found is situated in the western region of the country spanning districts of Kasese, Kamwenge, Rubirizi and Rukungiri. On a land coverage of about 1,978 square kilometers (764 sq. mi) this is the second popularly visited Uganda safari park hosting about 95 mammal species and popular for the tree climbing lions in the Ishasha sector.

Kazinga Channel is a 32km(20mi) wide long natural channel within the great lakes region joining lakes George in the North East and Lake Edward in the South West of Queen Elizabeth National Park. Lake George on the Eastern side of the channel is a small lake with an average depth of only 2.4 meters (7.9 ft) fed by streams from the Rwenzori mountains with its outflow going through the Channel and draining into Lake Edward.

 The Kazinga channel attracts a diverse range of animal and bird species and host to one of the world's largest concentration of hippopotamuses and numerous Nile crocodiles. Many wild animals come to the shores of the channel to quench their thirst and this is what makes the boat cruise an ultimate activity to get you up close to these species as you cruise just meters from hundreds of wild species. At the shores of this channel is a large number of wild animals, birds in addition to reptiles all through the year, with one of the largest population of hippos in the whole world as well as plentiful crocodiles.
