The 8 Days Tanzania wildlife safari is a Tanzania wildlife tour to the splendid safari destinations of the heart of Africa featuring a great deal of wildlife including the African Big five of land animals, culture and heritage at Olduvai Gorge and scenery in Ngorongoro Crater. The tour takes you through Tanzania’s famous destinations of Lake Manyara National Park, Serengeti National Park, Ngorongoro crater and Tarangire National Park.

Your professional Tanzania safari guide will pick you up at the start of your safari from Kilimanjaro International Airport to Arusha town from where you start your safari. The next morning, you are driven to Lake Manyara National park where you will do 2 game drives one in the evening and another in the morning the next day. You will later on in the evening drive to Serengeti national park where you will have a hot air balloon experience, do a full day game drive and another game drive before you transfer to Ngorongoro crater for a tour then be driven back to Arusha the next day. You then continue to Tarangire National park for a game drive before returning at the end of your trip at Kilimanjaro International Airport.

Day 1 of the 8 Days Tanzania wildlife safari/Tanzania wildlife tour

Arriving at Kilimanjaro International Airport, you meet your Tanzania tour guide who briefs you on your safari and makes a transfer to Arusha town using a 4x4 safari vehicle. Driving for about 1hour on 51km distance, you arrive for check in, dinner and an overnight stay at a booked lodging facility.

From an accommodation facility in Arusha (the world’s safari capital), a professional Tanzania safari driver guide will pick you up for a drive to Lake Manyara National Park. Lasting about 2-3 hours, you arrive in time for a meal after then, head into the Lake Manyara National Park located at the foot of the Great Rift Valley’s western escarpments for an afternoon game drive. Covered by a massif shallow soda lake, the park hosts a variety of wildlife including Africa’s largest concentration of elephants, tree climbing lions and the beautiful flamingos by the algae lake. You return to your preferred hotel/lodge for the night.

In the morning, you go for a game drive at sunrise in search of the early risers as they try to find prey. The game drive takes about 32-4 hours within the beautiful park along the shallow soda lake as you sight several species like the tree climbing lions, elephants, and many beautiful bird species. After then you embark on a drive to Serengeti National Park on a 133km distance taking about 3hours. Cruising in a 4x4 safari land cruiser, you slowly descend to the wildlife filled heart of the wild Africa with vast plains arriving for check in and a night’s stay at a booked accommodation facility close to Serengeti National Park.

Following morning breakfast at your lodging facility, you go for a hot air balloon experience. Floating on a hot air balloon over the spectacular wildlife filled Serengeti is an amazing experience and an extraordinary adventure. After the hot air balloon experience, you have lunch then continue for an evening game drive to the central park area, known as the Seronera area, one of the richest wildlife habitats in the park, featuring the Seronera River, which provides a valuable water source to this area and therefore attracts wildlife well representative of most of the Serengeti’s species. You return for the night at a booked lodging facility.

After breakfast, you will again get into the Serengeti plains where you go for another game drive. On this day, you go to the Sogore River Circuit south of the Seronera River with possible sightings of the Lion, Thompson gazelle, topi, ostrich and the cheetah. After the game drive, a visit to the visitor Centre close to Serengeti Seronera Lodge will offer more knowledge on the wildlife and area of the park. You then have picnic lunch and continue with an afternoon game drive. With your safari guide, you will follow the Kopjes Circuit that goes anti-clockwise around the Maasai Kopjes and usually attracts a number of lions and some large cobras. During the dry season, the kopjes provide shade and drinking water in pools which attracts several wildlife species making it a prime game viewing spot.

You take your last breakfast in Serengeti then depart to Ngorongoro Conservation area. Along the way, you stop at Olduvai Gorge which is known as the place where early man’s skull was discovered. You spend a moment here at a spot with significant links to human evolution. Arriving in the afternoon, you have lunch then descend to the Ngorongoro crater for wildlife viewing. Rewardingly, the Ngorongoro crater hosts a profusion of wildlife like the wildebeest, zebra, buffalo, eland, warthog, hippo, giant African elephants, lions, hyenas, jackals, cheetahs and leopards to be sighted. At the Alkaline Lake Magadi, you get the chance to sight the beautiful flamingoes and other water birds.

After breakfast, you will depart for Tarangire National Park on the low-lying hills of the Great Rift Valley floor. The drive in the African wilderness takes you to a beautiful park covered with Acacia woodland and giant African Baobab trees, with huge swamp areas in the south. After picnic lunch in the afternoon, you have a drive through the park that hosts the largest elephant herds in Africa, the Greater Kudu, the Fringed-eared Oryx, as well as a few Ashy Starlings.
