Day 1 of the 8 Days Rwanda gorilla safari & wildlife tour: Arrival at Kigali International Airport and transfer to Akagera National Park Rwanda.

You will be met by our Rwanda safari tour guide on arrival at the airport. Day 2 of the 8 Days Rwanda gorilla safari & wildlife tour: Morning game drive in the park, have an afternoon boat ride and an evening game drive as you depart for your hotel/lodge.

Start your day with early morning breakfast at the lodge before joining your ranger in your open safari 4x4 land cruiser for your morning game drive in the park. This half day game drive will offer you opportunity to spot a variety of wild animals including elephants, buffalos, lions, Masai giraffe, gazelles, impala, baboons, oribi, Burchell’s zebra, topi, bush baby, leopard and bushbuck. Later in afternoon after your game drive, you will return to the lodge for your lunch. After your lunch, proceed for a boat cruise along Lake Ihema that lasts about 2hours, a ride that will bring you close to the water animals like Crocodiles and Hippos, as well as large concentration of bird life. The park has over 525 species identified bird species with unique species like the Shoe billed stock, papyrus gonolek among the many. Day 3 of the 8 Days Rwanda gorilla safari & wildlife tour: Transfer from Akagera National Park for Volcanoes National Park and do a nature walk

Have breakfast in the morning at the lodge, prepare to set off for Volcanoes National Park for an unquestionably incomparable experience of Mountain gorilla tracking. The drive is about 217km covered in about 4 hours. Arrive at the park and check in your accommodation and have lunch. Take an afternoon nature walk through the nearby forest and the nearby crater lakes for a picturesque view, bird watching and photography. Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight at lodge. Day 4 of the 8 Days Rwanda gorilla safari & wildlife tour: Do gorilla trekking in Volcanoes National Park

Wake up to an early morning breakfast at the lodge and then transfer to the Volcanoes National Park headquarters with your packed lunch before 8am for your briefing by the park rangers on how you are going to carry out your Rwanda gorilla trekking safari. After the briefing, you will be led by the rangers into the forest in search for the brilliant apes. You will use slippery and muddy trails along the Volcanoe slopes which is a little challenging. This Rwanda gorilla tour will last between 2-8 hours including the 1 hour that will be given to you after spotting the mountain gorillas. During this hour, you will watch the gorilla carryout their activities, feed, build nests, cuddle giving you chance to take lots of pictures. Depending on how you will be feeling, you can visit the panoramic twin volcanic lakes of Burera and Ruhondo. After the simple nature walk, you will return to your lodge for dinner. Day 5 of the 8 Days Rwanda gorilla safari & wildlife tour: Transfer to Nyungwe Forest National Park to your lodge booked for your night stay

After your early morning breakfast at the lodge, your guide will transfer you to the park headquarters to be briefed about the dos and don’ts of a Rwanda gorilla safari tour by the ranger guides. After the briefing from the ranger guides, you will head into the forest to search for the gorillas. Upon meeting the gorillas, you will be restricted to a maximum of one hour and later you will descend back. Depending on how you will be feeling after the trekking tour, you will go for a cultural walk that will give you an opportunity of enjoying their different cultural practices in Rwanda. Retire and return to the lodge, rest and dine.

Day 6 of the 8 Days Rwanda gorilla safari & wildlife tour: Do your chimpanzee trekking safari and canopy walk in Nyungwe National Park

Wake up to an early morning breakfast at your lodge, transfer with your driver guide to the park headquarters for your chimpanzee trekking activity. This chimpanzee trekking Rwanda safari starts at 8am with a briefing for the rangers. The rangers will then lead you to the forest to see the chimpanzees all the way through the jungle forest, hiking in the steep slopes amidst several sightings for about 2-5 hours. Once you spot them, you will be stunned by the way the chimps play around in the trees with their human like characters. Retire for your lunch. In the afternoon at 2pm, you will start your canopy walk in the forest that you explored early in the morning as you trekked the chimpanzees, walking on a bridge that is about 50m above the ground and 200meters long. This is a breathtaking experience that cannot be compared to any other activity in this park. The 2 hours walk starts and ends at the Uwinka tourist reception center at the park headquarters. During this walk, you will sight variety of bird species that will be passing by, birds in the trees, and several tree species. Retreat from the activity and return to your lodge for dinner.

Day 7 of the 8 Days Rwanda gorilla safari & wildlife tour: Transfer from Nyungwe Forest National Park to Lake Kivu for a boat cruise

Early in the morning after breakfast at the hotel, transfer from Nyungwe Forest National Park to Lake Kivu for a boat cruise. You will have beautiful sightings of the many islands found in this lake, a number of water animals, several bird life and many more. After the boat cruise, you will after transfer to your hotel, check in dine and rest.

Day 8 of the 8 Days Rwanda gorilla safari & wildlife tour: Return to Kigali to your hotel or for your scheduled flight

Have breakfast at will, prepare to live this part of land and embark on your journey to Kigali for your flight.
