The 10 Days gorilla safari Rwanda wildlife tour or Rwanda gorilla trekking safari is a two East African country safari featuring gorilla trekking and wildlife encounters. On your Uganda safari, you visit Lake Mburo National Park and Queen Elizabeth National Park where you undertake game drives and boat/launch cruises. In Rwanda you go mountain gorilla and golden monkey trekking in Volcanoes National Park then go chimpanzee trekking and take a canopy walk at Nyungwe Forest National Park.

You arrive at Entebbe International Airport in Uganda where you meet your safari driver guide for a transfer to a booked hotel/lodge in Kampala-Uganda’s capital. The next morning, you are driven by your safari guide to Lake Mburo National Park with a stop at the equator line before arriving for a boat cruise. You a morning game drive the next day then transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park. At Queen Elizabeth Park, you go for a morning game drive then an evening boat cruise then continue to Rwanda’s Volcanoes national park where you undertake gorilla trekking, golden monkey trekking and pay a visit to Dian Fossey center. Day 1: You arrive at Entebbe International Airport where you meet a professional driver guide for a drive to a booked hotel or lodge in Kampala.

Day 1 of the 10 Days gorilla safari Rwanda wildlife tour / Rwanda gorilla trekking safari

Your 10 days safari starts with arrival at Entebbe International Airport, where you meet your safari driver guide who welcomes you and helps with the transfer to your 4x4 safari vehicle. As your guide briefs you on the trip, you transfer to a hotel/lodge in Kampala for about 52km covering 47km. Upon arrival at the lodge, you check in, relax, have dinner and spend the night as you rest from jet lag and prepare to start the road trip to the countryside the next morning.

After breakfast at your lodging facility in Kampala, your professional safari driver guide will pick you up as early as 7:00am for a road trip to Lake Mburo National Park. After an 80km drive from Kampala, you will have stop at the equator line in Kayabwe for a zero-latitude experience and photography. Here you take memorable pictures of the world’s dividing line and do water experiments to prove the forces of this point after then you continue with the drive to the southern hemisphere to Lake Mburo National Park. On arrival, you go for an evening boat cruise on the historical Lake Mburo for about 2 hours. After the game drive you then retire for dinner and an overnight stay at an accommodation in Lake Mburo National Park.

Early morning, you start the day with a hot cup of African coffee then after be driven to the park for a morning game drive. As the early risers get out to search for prey, you have the possibility to sight several wild species like the Zebras, Kobs, antelopes and many others. After about 2-4 hours of the game drive, you have lunch then embark on the drive to Queen Elizabeth National Park on a drive covering 222km on an almost 5 hours’ drive. Arriving in the evening, you spend the night at a booked lodge or hotel close to the park.

By 7:00am, you will be in Queen Elizabeth park headquarters for a morning game drive that lasts about 2-4 hours. During the game drive, your guide slowly drives through the park in an open roof 4x4 safari vehicle as you sight several wild species like elephants, waterbucks, lions, antelopes, kobs and many more. After the game drive, you have lunch and then transfer to the Kazinga channel for a launch cruise. The 2 hours boat cruise on the 45km long kazinga channel that joins Lakes Albert and George offers you the best chance to sight several water animals and the highest concentration of hippopotamuses in the whole of Africa. After this amazing Uganda wildlife safari experience, you retire for the night at a booked accommodation.

This last morning of your Uganda safari, you have relaxed breakfast then after be transferred to Rwanda’s Volcanoes National Park. Taking a road ride 399km for about 7 hours, you go past the beautiful terraced hill slopes of the Kigezi highlands to the land of a thousand hills. On arrival you check in and spend the night at a lodge or hotel close to the park.

Following breakfast at your accommodation facility in Volcanoes National Park, you are transferred to the park for gorilla trekking. Your Rwanda gorilla trekking safari experience starts with briefing at 8:00am by the park rangers on the Rwanda gorilla trekking etiquette. You then get into the jungle alongside 7 other trekkers and an armed park ranger where you spend about 2-6hours in the jungle and a single hour in the presence of the gentle mountain gorillas. You return to the trek start point where you meet your driver guide for a drive back to your lodging facility for relaxation.

After breakfast, you again get in to the jungles of Volcanoes National Park for golden monkey trekking. This is the only habitat where mountain gorillas and golden monkeys co-exist in Rwanda and the experience lasts about 4 hours. In the afternoon, you pay a tribute visit to the Dian Fossey Centre and look at the efforts that have been put in to gorilla conservation one of the factors that of recent created the shift of mountain gorillas from critically endangered to endangered on the IUCN list. In the morning, you have your last breakfast at the foothills of the gorilla land and then be driven to Nyungwe National Park. You have a stop at Butare museum where you learn more on the culture and traditions of the people of Rwanda. From here you continue with the 280km drive to Nyungwe Forest National Park arriving in the evening for check in, dinner and an overnight stay at a booked accommodation facility close to the park.

In the morning, your safari guide picks you up for a drive to Nyungwe Forest National Park where you go for chimpanzee trekking. Starting at 8:00am, you spend about 2-4hours trekking the chimpanzees as you sight them chunk fruit and play. After the trek, you have lunch then transfer to the Uwinka tourist reception for a canopy walk in Nyungwe Forest. You go on a walk 50m above the ground for 200meters which is a breathtaking 2 hours experience. After the walk above the tree tops on a suspended bridge, you return to your lodging facility where you spend the night.

After breakfast, you check out of your lodging facility and be driven to Kigali town where you undertake a short city tour on a visit to the genocide memorial center. You can also do some shopping before your driver guide takes you to Kigali international airport for a departure flight.
