Detailed itinerary of the 8 Days Gorilla safari Uganda & wildlife tour Kenya

Day 1: Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

Wake up very early in the morning, meet and greet with your driver guide and have a short briefing about your 8 Days Gorilla safari Uganda & wildlife tour Kenya. After the briefing, you will set off for your journey to Bwindi impenetrable National park via the Mbarara, Kanungu, Rukungiri road enjoying the beautiful scenery of Uganda. You will break your journey with a lunch stop in Mbarara at the Igongo Cultural centre and after you will proceed arriving in the park in the evening. Day 2: Do your Gorilla trekking safari adventure in the Bwindi Impenetrable Forest and lake Bunyonyi safari boat cruise in the afternoon

Have breakfast very early in the morning at your lodge and go for the Uganda gorilla trekking safari briefing from the Uganda wildlife officials about the Uganda gorilla safari tour etiquette which starts at 8am. After the briefing, the rangers will lead you into the thick forest for your gorilla trekking activity that takes approximately 2-8hours. Remember to carry packed lunch from the lodge. During your trekking, expect to see different primates including black and white Colobus monkeys and various bird species like the rare shoebill stock and butterflies as well. Once you spot the gorillas, you will be restricted to one hour with them, watch them play, build their nests, cuddle and many more. When your hour elapses, you will return to the starting point where you will be awarded a certificate for tracking. Drive to Lake Bunyonyi; a lake of very many small birds, take a boat cruise through the many islands there and after go to your lodge, dine and rest.

Day 3: Transfer very early in the morning to Queen Elizabeth National Park for a morning game drive in the park and boat cruise in the afternoon

Wake up very early in the morning and drive to Queen Elizabeth National Park for a morning game drive in the park along the Kasenyi trail where you will catch the early morning risers as they set out to go and get their prey. Expect to see animals like Uganda kobs, Topi’s, Bushbucks, Buffalo among others. You will also encounter with several bird species as well as plant life. The game drive will last about 3-4 hours, go to your lodge for proper breakfast, relax, have lunch and transfer to Mweya for your launch cruise along the 45km Kazinga Channel that connects to Lake Edward and Lake George. While on this 2-hour boat cruise, you will see lots water animals including the highest concentration of hippos, several crocodiles, water birds, and other animals as they come to quench their thirst along the river banks.

Day 4: Do a morning game drive in the park as you transfer back to Kampala

Have a leisurely breakfast at the lodge, pack your bags and do a morning game drive in the park as you depart for Kampala. You will break your journey with lunch en route in Mbarara and at the equator for photography as well participate in the water experiment to know changes in your body weight while at the equator, purchase some and return back to Kampala where you will dine and rest.

Day 5: Have a relaxed breakfast at your hotel relax and prepare to Fly to Nairobi in the afternoon

Have relaxed breakfast early in the morning at your hotel of stay pack your bags and prepare to fly out in the afternoon to Nairobi in Kenya. Arrive at the airport, meet and greet with your driver guide, pack your bags in the car and transfer to your hotel where you will spend the night.

Day 6: Transfer from Nairobi at your Hotel and drive to Masai Mara game reserve

Depart Nairobi in the morning and drive down the floor of the Rift Valley to the top of the famous Masai Mara. Arrive in time for lunch and then take an afternoon drive into the surrounding area to see some wildlife for which the Mara is famous. Expect to see Gazelle, Zebra, Cape Buffalo, Elephants, Cheetah, Hippos and Crocodiles along the River Banks.

Day 7: You will have a full day exploration of Masai Mara game reserve

After breakfast at your hotel of stay, your driver guide will meet you and transfer you to Masai Mara where you will do a game drive in park. Upon arrival, you will start game viewing inside the Masai Mara. Expect to see the big five and visit the Mara river for wildebeest migration corridor. Have a Picnic lunch and after go for a hot air balloon safari around the park. Return and transfer to your lodge, dine and rest.

Day 8: Return back to Nairobi and fly back home

Have a leisurely breakfast at your hotel, pack your bags and after set off for Nairobi where you will arrive on time to catch your flight home.
