With a probable big five African wildlife encounter, the safari starts with a pick up and ends with a drop off at Entebbe international airport. From the airport on arrival, your driver guide picks you up for a drive to a lodging facility in Kampala where you spend the night. Next morning from your lodging facility, you are driven by your tour guide to Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary for rhino tracking where after you continue to Murchison Falls National Park. The next day, you go for a morning game drive, have lunch, take an evening boat cruise and hike to the top of Murchison falls in the evening. On the fourth day you drive to Kidepo national park for more wildlife experiences with a full day game drive the next day. On the six day, you hike mount Morungole as you pay a visit to the Ik people. On the seventh day of your trip, you are driven to Mbale town where you spend the night. From Mbale town, you are driven back to Entebbe international airport with a stop at Jinja for a boat cruise to the source of the Nile River.

Day 1: On arrival at Entebbe international airport, you are picked up by your Uganda safari guide for a transfer to a lodging facility in Kampala with a briefing on your tour.

Day 2: From your lodging facility in Kampala, a safari driver guide picks you up for a transfer to Murchison falls national park making the first wildlife encounter at Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary for rhino tracking.

Day 3: Early morning, you go for a game drive, have lunch then after go for an evening boat cruise and a hike to the top of the falls where you meet your driver guide for a transfer back to your lodging facility.

Day 4: After breakfast, you are driven past the dotted savannah plains of northern Uganda, to Kidepo valley national park arriving in the evening.

Day 5: From morning, you spend the day in Kidepo valley national park on a full day game drive with picnic lunch.

Day 6: After breakfast, you have the chance to learn something about the Ik people on a hike to Morungole mountain where you spend the day.

Day 1 of the 8 days Ziwa Rhino tracking, Murchison Falls & Kidepo National Park wildlife safari in Uganda

Day 1 of your safari in Uganda, you arrive at Entebbe international airport where you meet a knowledgeable driver guide. After meeting and greeting, your driver guide will help you with the transfer to your 4x4 safari vehicle for a drive to the booked lodging facility in Kampala. Driving close to the shores of Lake Victoria, you arrive for check in, refreshment and dinner at a lodge within Uganda’s bustling capital-Kampala where you spend the night.

Early morning at about 7:00am, your Uganda tour guide picks you up from a lodging facility in Kampala for a drive to Murchison Falls National Park. A branch off to Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary for foot rhino tracking in the only habitat for rhinos in Uganda starts off your safari. After about 2 hours at the sanctuary, you have lunch then after be driven to Murchison falls national park arriving for check in, dinner and an overnight at a prior preferred accommodation in Murchison falls national park.

Day 3 of the 8 days Ziwa Rhino tracking, Murchison Falls & Kidepo National Park wildlife safari in Uganda

The day starts with a warm cup of coffee then after you are driven to Murchison falls park for the first game drive on your Uganda wildlife tour starting at 7:00am depending on your hotel of accommodation. Lasting 2-4hours, Elephants, lions, leopards, buffaloes and giraffes make the common sightings of the morning alongside other early risers and bird species.

After the game drive you return to your hotel/lodge for lunch or have picnic lunch then go for an evening boat cruise at 2:00pm starting from Paraa jetty where you have a chance to listen and watch the local people play local instruments.

Just below the mighty waterfalls where the boat cruise takes you to is the starting point for the hike to the top of the Murchison falls that takes you about 40min to 1h where after you meet your driver guide ready to take you to your lodging facility.

After gazing at the attractions in Murchison falls national park, following breakfast, you are driven for about 7-8 hours to the hidden gem of Kidepo valley far north eastern Uganda. Passing through the vast dotted savannah plains, you sight the scenic hills that distinct Acholi land from Kidepo, the traditional homes of the Karamojong known as “manyattas” and the towering Morungole and Moroto mountains. Arriving in the evening, you check in and spend a night at an accommodation in Kidepo valley national park.

This morning, expect to be at Kidepo valley park with your driver guide and game ranger for a morning game drive. Driving through a tranquil environment, you go to the Narus river side common for buffalo herds, elephants, zebras, giraffes, antelopes and numerous bird species. After lunch, you return to another biome of the Kidepo valley national park for another game drive where you spend the rest of the day.

After a night of contemplating such a pristine wilderness, you are driven to Mount Morungole (2,479m above sea level) to visit the Ik people. This is one of the smallest tribes in Uganda found on this mountainous region of Karamoja and very diverse with unique cultures. You will spend the whole day with the Ik people and share lunch with the local people. In the evening, you descend from the mountain and return to your lodging facility for dinner and an overnight stay.

This morning you have your last breakfast at Kidepo valley then start the transfer to Mbale town in western Uganda. Cruising out of the vast golden plains to the raised landscape of Mount Elgon is one of the amazing country side experiences that display the vastness in Uganda. You arrive in the evening for dinner at a booked accommodation in Mbale town-“the imbalu land”.

On this last day of your safari, you wake up to a warm breakfast then be driven back to Entebbe international airport. After about 3 hours’ drive, you stop for an adventure experience on the world’s longest river-Nile River. You undertake a boat cruise to the source of the Nile then continue with the drive to Entebbe international airport for an evening departure flight taking about another 3 hours. This marks the end of your round trip in Uganda.
