Upon early/morning arrival at Entebbe international airport you meet a knowledgeable Uganda birding safari ready to drive you to a booked hotel or lodge in Entebbe. After check in and refreshment, you go for a short Uganda bird watching tour to Entebbe Botanical Gardens in the evening where you sight a representation of the bird species in Uganda then after return to your lodge or hotel in the evening. From your hotel in the morning, the journey to Mabamba wetland starts in the morning taking you 26km from Entebbe with a drive time of about 1h 12min. The perfect route to take is the Kasenje route which includes a ferry crossing, the 23 minutes spent on the ferry offers the best time for water bird sightings. Home to several bird species, this is one of the nearby spots from Kampala where you can sight the elusive shoebill stork. Other bird species to tick off your list in Mabamba include the Swamp Flycatcher, African Water Rail, African Purple Swamp-hen, Common Moorhen, African Jacana, Lesser Jacana, Winding Cisticola and many more. You have lunch at Nkima forest lodge after 2-3 hours on the boat then drive to Nkima forest in search of the forest bird species in the evening. You then return to a lodge or one of the hotels in Uganda Kampala where you spend a night.

Following early breakfast, using a 4x4 safari vehicle your birding driver guide takes you on a road drive to Semuliki national park for birding the next day. The first stop is made at the equator line in Kayabwe about 80km from Kampala for about 30minutes then continue to the “The True Birders Haven” hosting over 400 bird species. Arriving in the evening, you check in, have dinner and rest at an accommodation in Semuliki National Park as you prepare for birding in Uganda’s Semuliki the next day.
