The tourism
sector of Uganda is to benefit from the support which was given by
UNWTO to help in promoting and developing the tourism sector in the
country. This will help in marketing and promoting the tourism sector to
the outside world and there after increasing the safaris to Uganda.
The main emphasis is put on the sustainability of tourism
businesses and the value they bring to the local communities where the
attractions are located. Sustainable tourism is the practice of tourism
with the love for the environment. The ministry of tourism has greatly
encouraged the conservation and preservation of the national parks so
that the number of tourists who come for safari tours can be increased.
The main aim of supporting the tourism industry in Uganda was to empower the poor to increase benefits from
the tourism industry and improve their livelihoods through access to
labour and markets, and the increased opportunities for the work and
income. This has encouraged many local people to participate directly in
the development of the tourism sector, hence increasing the number of safaris to Uganda.
The
tourism sector has received such support which has helped in financing
the different projects in the country and these include the development
of the roads especially those in the national parks, the renovation of
the hotels which have greatly helped the tourists with in the country.
