The launch of sustainable Tourism master plan was done in Kenya were
all the other east African countries were urged to encourage and also
promote sustainable tourism development in their countries. This tourism
master plan provides a regional framework for sustainable tourism
development with a view of contributing to the socio-economic
development and the poverty control and also promoting regional
integration. This will also help in increasing the number of tourists
who come for safaris to East African countries.
Controlling these obstacles, will help in promoting domestic tourism which will also help in increasing the number of safari tours as well as revenues in the country. This will also encourage more international tourists to book safaris
to East African countries. Some of the obstacles which are affecting
the tourism sector include; poor infrastructures like the roads and the
hotels, lack of enough funds from the central governments, lack of
marketing and many more which have decreased safaris to East African countries.
There
needs some policies and regulatory and institutional frameworks which
can be put in place to help in regulating the obstacles which are
affecting the tourism sector. This will help in increasing the
development of the tourism sector and also limiting the problems which
affect the increasing number of safaris to Rwanda, Uganda, Kenya and 0ther East African countries.
