Rwanda air concludes the purchase deal of two airbus aircraft

Rwand AirRwanda Air, the famous national Airline of Rwanda has in the early morning of today concluded the deal to secure two Airbus A330 Aircraft where one is A330-200 Version and then the other is the extensive A330-300. These types are qualified for the ETOP operations that stretch beyond the 180 minutes which are ideal for the long distance route to China thus opening ground for the travel of Rwanda safari undertakers.
The both Aircrafts will see their delivery in the month of September and the month of December in the year 2016. The equipment will be powered by the best engines prevailing in the market apparently named the Rolls Royce Trent 772B. These Aircrafts are noted to be the first ever wide body equipment that are going to join the fleet of Rwanda Air and will feature Economy, Premium Economy and Business Class to cater for various traveler categories including those heading for safaris in Rwanda
It can be noted that the A330-200 which is the smaller presents twenty (20) flatbed seats in the C-Class, a count of twenty one (21) seats in the Premium Economy Cabin and 203 seats in the Economy Cabin. The larger variant Aircraft A330-300 features thirty (30) flatbed seats in the C-Class, twenty one (21) seats in the Premium economy cabin and 223 seats in the Economy Class. The combination of the two presents a provision for the increased passenger carriage thus providing more space for those that might wish to travel to Rwanda including undertaking Rwanda safaris.
Though the prices were declined to be declared publically, it can be noted that Rwanda Air managed to negotiate a favorable deal from the Airbus considering the Airbus’s interest to increase its presence in Africa. The Rwanda Air secured a credit of $160m from the Eastern and Southern Africa Bank (PTA Bank) to enable the purchase of the Aircrafts. Rwanda Air becomes the first to get the two new wide body aircraft of the A330 in the region of East Africa.
John Mirenge the Rwanda Air CEO noted that the new Aircrafts will be deployed on the China route more likely the Guangzhou through India and another route would be Europe featuring Frankfurt and the capital London. However, this was considered as speculation since a detailed route analysis will have to be carried out first. He further noted that Rwanda Air had concluded a purchase deal for more two (2) B737-800NG Sky Interior with the company Boeing which was delivered in 2006.
The purchase of these Aircrafts will bring the total fleet of Rwanda Air to twelve (12) from the current eight (8) which is a symbol showing that Rwanda Air is among the Airlines that are growing at a faster rate in the continent of Africa and importantly with the youngest equipment. Hopes of the carrier to increase the passenger carriage from the apparent 500,000 per annum to over 3 million in the subsequent years can be developed.
The additional two (2) Aircrafts of medium distance will enable Rwanda Air to expand the reach to different parts of Africa through opening up new routes and increasing frequencies to key cities where the seat demand calls for extra flights.
Rwanda Air was recognized early this year as among the safest Airlines in Africa following the passing of operational Safety Audit by the International Air Transport Association. As result, it was given IATA Membership joining other 250 carriers from over 150 nations.
The Rwanda Air makes flights to a range of eighteen (18) destinations including Entebbe, Nairobi, Mombasa, Lusaka, Bujumbura, Juba, Dar-es-salaam, Douala, Kilimanjaro, Dubai, Johannesburg, Lagos, Brazzaville and Libreville among other destinations
