TAKING STOCK OF 39th AFRICA TRAVEL ASSOCIATION ANNUAL WORLD CONGRESS – UGANDA SAFARI NEWS
The
39th Africa Travel Association Annual World Congress was attended by
over 500 delegates from different parts of the world some of which had
already undertook safaris in Uganda before the congress while others
made safari tours in Uganda after the congress getting or themselves the authentic experience of the range of tourist attractions that thrive in Uganda.
The range of attractions and activities included the thrilling primates of Uganda such as the mountain gorillas with their gorilla tracking endeavors, golden monkeys with their golden monkey tracking encounter, chimpanzees with their chimpanzee trekking encounter among other primates that are always encountered by Uganda safari undertakers. Others range from the ancient heritage of Ugandans to sandy beaches in the Lake Victoria islands, the magical snowcapped mountains of the moon – the Rwenzori, ten (10) forest and savannah national Parks with their range of wildlife including the big five forming the ground for impressive wildlife safaris in Uganda, adventurous activities like bungee jumping, kayaking, mountain climbing and hiking. The delegates emanating from over 20 countries including; Kenya, Rwanda, Tanzania, Ethiopia, Liberia, Gambia, Nigeria, Cameroon, Ivory Coast, Zimbabwe, South Africa, Zambia, the Seychelles, Switzerland, Turkey, Italy, Canada, the UK, and the US not forgetting the host country Uganda gave Uganda a unique advantage to exhibit herself as one of the Africa’s prime destinations with diverse attractions that every traveller wishing to visit Africa can expect.
The stakeholders of Uganda’s tourism were generally happy with the outcomes of the congress and the government’s support towards the congress. The contacts and networks got from the source markets such as North America, Europe and Africa are to be capitalized on and the feedback from the delegates was very positive which might result into increased safari tours to Uganda.
