Nature Walks in Kidepo Valley National Park -Uganda Safari News

Kidepo Valley National Park is popularly known as one of the best African wildernesses popular for Uganda wildlife safaris. Many tourists never think of taking nature walks and only choose to take a game drive through the savannah plains but then taking a nature walk as one of the most rewarding activities in Kidepo Valley National Park. In the search of wildlife, bird species, insects, flora and the people of this place, many activities have been carried out and the nature walk is becoming one of them especially on the new Lonyiri Nature Walk trail. The Lonyiri nature walk takes you through nature in a beautiful habitat for 25km in the wilderness that hosts untamed wild species.

If you are longing to have a feel of nature within a close range to wildlife, the 25km Lonyiri Nature walk away from the busy park is the new way to get a quiet walk in this extensive shrub land. The 25km Lonyiri Nature Walk brings you to Napusmur summit in just eight hours depending on when the hike is started. As quoted from a statement made by Mr. Zacharia Lokwee, a tourist guide at Kidepo Valley National Park, the main idea of introducing the Lonyiri nature walk is to capture the imagination and creativity of tourists by giving them a particular pursuit when involved in a nature walk.

They do this by creating some kind of a guide or collection in whatever interests them. They get to make their own guide, booklet, or collection from their discoveries,” said Mr. Lokwee.

On this walk, your rewards are only limited by your imagination and willingness for fitness adventure. If you need a psychological boost then this is one of the best options to take on since psychologically walking in untamed environments and having exposure to nature reduces stress and boots well being by reducing obsessive, negative thoughts. Besides this being one of the new activities in Kidepo Valley National Park, a two-day nature walk could also be organized with shorter guided walks taken through the Narus Valley extending to over 10km up to Akonya Rock.
