“Experience Uganda First!” – Exclusive Travel Campaign Launched for the Middle East

The Uganda Tourism Board (UTB) officially launched an exclusive Uganda safari tour travel campaign entitled “Experience Uganda – First” in the Middle East countries at United Arab Emirates Dubai. This is the first time for Uganda to create and promote a Uganda safari travel package exclusively created for locals and residents of the Gulf Countries.

The offer was given to the Middle East countries under the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC); a political and economic alliance that consists of six Middle Eastern countries; Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, the United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Bahrain, and Oman.
The “Experience Uganda – First” campaign, offers selected G.C.C. travel agencies unique Uganda tour travel holiday packages based on a number of themes.  These themes will come along with complimentary airport transfers for their clients on tours in Uganda. This amazing visit Uganda campaign was launched yesterday at an event held at the Hyatt Regency Hotel Dubai. It was attended by the Minister of Tourism, Wildlife and Antiquities in Uganda; Honorable Prof. Ephraim Kamuntu, and the Ugandan Ambassador to the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA), His Excellency Ambassador Zaake Wanume Kibedi and members of the Ugandan Government and The Parliament.

Significance of the campaign

“Experience Uganda – First” campaign is going to promote Uganda The Pearl of Africa” as a destination. Uganda is one of Africa’s premier Africa safari adventure destinations as well as the best nature holiday endpoint for travellers. Uganda welcomes all travellers on Long Uganda safaris and short Uganda safaris including families, groups, couples, business travellers and young adults, seeking the travel experiences that create memories for a lifetime.

The campaign launch was attended by more than 50 of the UAE’s leading travel agencies, Uganda Tourism Board officials, and a number of Uganda tour operator representatives. To kick off the launch, Ndere Troupe, a cultural dance Performance group from Uganda entertained the audience, showcasing the Uganda cultural safari attractions Uganda has to offer as part of their performance.
Famous as home to the highest concentration of primates and birds in Africa, Uganda is set to offer Middle East countries special promotional Uganda safari holiday packages that include Uganda guided safaris, River Nile boat cruise excursions that will be done during 1 Day Jinja tours or Jinja day tours and on boat cruise in Murchison Falls National Park during a Uganda wildlife safari tour. It is hoped that through these marketing efforts, more nationals and residents of the Gulf Countries will come to visit Uganda, see first-hand the exceptional natural and human resources and talent that makes Uganda so special, especially as a holiday destination.”
On his part, the Ugandan Ambassador to the UAE and IRENA, His Excellency Ambassador Zaake Wanume Kibedi, witnessed that, “The Gulf Countries are a region of focus and commitment for Uganda going forward. In consequence, the Uganda Tourism Board established a representative office with is a General Sales Agent of airline and tourism representative; AVIAREPS based in Dubai to cover the whole G.C.C. region.

Marketing activities about destination Uganda kicked off in the region to make Uganda more accessible for travellers and travel agents starting with this campaign launch. This was all done to ensure that Uganda becomes a ‘bucket list’ holiday destination that doesn’t disappoint. The Experience Uganda – First! The campaign was created to address this concern, that’s why it is now believed that many travel and nature enthusiasts from the Middle East are yet to visit and experience the Pearl of Africa.

As part of its ongoing marketing activities in the region, the Uganda Tourism Board will also be launching an online training program for Middle East travel agents, in order for them to become experts in promoting Uganda to their clients, and a social media campaign under the hashtag #ExperienceUganda1st, whereby travellers are encouraged to visit the Pearl of Africa before their well-travelled social circle friends and acquaintances.
