Mgahinga National Park covers an area of about 33.7 km², and it is about 4 hours from Kigali. Mgahinga National Park is home to the Nyakagezi gorilla group that is open to tourists on Uganda gorilla safaris and is strategically situated in the extreme corner of the country, forming part of a large conservation area that straddles the boarders of Rwanda and Congo.
As part of your adventure, expect to encounter with several wildlife animals in Queen Elizabeth National Park with about 1,978 square kilometers making it the second largest national park in the country after Murchison Falls National Park with over 3,893 square kilometers. Day 1: Arrive in Kigali at the Kigali International airport, meet and greet with your driver guide and transfer to Mgahinga National Park to your prior booked lodging facility

Arrive in Kigali at the Kigali International Airport in Rwanda where you will be welcomed by your driver guide. Meet and greet, have a short briefing about your 6 days Uganda gorilla safari Mgahinga & Queen Mburo Wildlife tour/ 6 days gorilla safari Uganda. After this briefing, your will drive through the land of a thousand hills approaching Mgahinga Gorilla National Park at your ccomodation in Mgahinga National Park Uganda that was prior booked for you.

Day 2: Do your gorilla trekking safari in Mgahinga National Park Forest and return to the lodge

You will wake up early in the morning and take breakfast at your hotel/lodge, get your lunch packed. The Uganda gorilla trekking safari activity starts at 8am. Your driver guide will pick you up at your lodge and drive you to the park headquarters for briefing about your gorilla safari Uganda especially about the do’s and the don’ts of the gorilla trekking activity. You will then be led into the forest by the pack rangers in search for your habituated gorilla group. Habituated gorillas can tolerate presence of people for just a little time every day. Upon sighting them, you will be restricted to an hour with them. In this hour, you will have an opportunity to watch them feed, play, build their nests, shy away from you which gives you an opportunity to photograph each moment that catches your eye. Coming face-to-face with a mountain gorilla is a truly humbling and emotional experience. This is a fantastic and privileged opportunity to get up close and personal with Uganda’s very own ‘Gorillas in the Mist’. Retreat from the activity and return to the lodge.

Day 3: Do a morning community walk in the Batwa home steads and transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park in the afternoon to your prior booked lodge

Have relaxed breakfast at the lodge and after embark on a community walk in the Batwa home steads. The Batwa pygmies are the original inhabitants of Bwindi Forest, they once shared this forest as their home with gorillas for a long time. During your visit on this trip, you will find out what happened to the Batwa after they were evicted from the forest. After the community walk, you will set off for Queen Elizabeth National Park where you will dine and spend the night.

Day 4: You will do a morning game drive in the park, return to the lodge for breakfast and do an afternoon boat cruise along the Kazinga channel

You will set off early from your hotel at around 6.30am for an early morning game drive via the Kasenyi trail in the park. This is an awesome experience to spot the animals in natural habitats. Expect to see 4 of the famous Big Five game; Elephant, Buffalos, Lions, Leopards and others including Bush bucks, Kobs, Giant forest hog, Hyenas leopards, antelopes, and Waterbucks as well as birds. You will return for breakfast and relax till lunch.
In the afternoon, after lunch, you will take a launch cruise along the amazing Kazinga channel to see the water animals like Hippos, Buffalos, Crocodiles and elephants’ bathing on along the channel banks. Kazinga Channel also has variety of bird species on the water banks especially the pelican and Jacana. The boat cruise takes about 2-3 hours. Retreat from the activity and return to your hotel/lodge for your dinner and overnight stay.

Day 5: Do morning game drive as you depart Queen Elizabeth National Park for Lake Mburo National Park

Have relaxed breakfast at your lodge in the morning and after prepare to leave this part of the world for Lake Mburo National Park. You will do a game drive as you depart Queen Elizabeth National Park Uganda for Lake Mburo National Park. The drive takes about 4 hours.  Arrive in time for lunch at the lodge reserved for you and have it. After lunch, you will go for an afternoon boat trip on the lake rich with a variety of animals such as hippos and crocodiles and bird species. It will take you about 2hours, in the evening take a nature walk before you retire for dinner and overnight at your accommodation in Lake Mburo National Park.

Day 6: Do an early morning game drive in the park and an afternoon game drive as you depart the park as you return to Kampala to your lodge or flight as you may choose

Do a game drive and check out Uganda’s wildlife such as zebra, warthog, buffalo, klipspringer, eland, oribi and waterbuck. Return to the lodge for lunch and after retreat and drive back to Kampala with a stopover in Kayabwe for your last gaze at the equator leaving you with everlasting memories of the Pearl of Africa, Uganda.
