RwandAir initiates the naming drive of the airbus


air rwandaThe RwandAir a famous national carrier of Rwanda that provides Air transport to the people traveling to and from Rwanda including the Rwanda gorilla safari undertakers has embarked on the initiative of finding the local names nationwide for its coming two A330 Airbus airplanes that are supposed to arrive in Rwanda in the second half of 2016.
The Yitenawe campaign that is running for two complete weeks seeks to secure the unique names generated from the natives which will be flagged on the coming aircrafts that will arrive in the month of September and the month of December 2016. The names that are being gathered should feature the cultural values and the Rwanda’s landmarks that will in turn be used to market the Rwanda safari products including gorilla safaris in Rwanda.
Ariella Kageruka of Rwanda Air notes that the fleet of the carrier should be used to publicize the tourism potential of Rwanda wherever they fly to and be used to build the esteem for Rwanda across the globe. This in turn would present strength to Rwanda from which it can base from to build a sustainable image and increase safaris to Rwanda including the gorilla trekking safaris to Rwanda.
The people of Rwanda are enabled to participate in the exercise by sending the preferred name to the phone number 0735444487 up to the 5th of October 2015. The winners of this name drive will be awarded return tickets to their preferred destinations.
The RwandAir at the onset of September 2015 came into agreement of purchasing the 2 Airbus aircraft equipment - A330-200 and A330-300 emerging the initial Airline in the region of East Africa to get such kind of Equipment. The new equipment feature the seat capacity of 300 and the 261 passengers accordingly featuring the 3 class configuration along with Rolls Royce Trent 772B engines making them safe and enough to transport the world travelers including those on safari in Rwanda. The new equipment intends to support the expansion plans of Rwanda Air that intends to fly Europe and the region of East Asia by 2017.
The destination Rwanda is targeting to improve on the count of arrivals from the apparent 500,000 passengers per annum to over 3 million in the five years to come. Rwanda Air is noted to be a well performing carrier that of recent has been recognized among the safest airlines by International Air Transport Association (IATA) after going through the operational safety audit (IOSA) which allowed it to join the team 250 member carriers from a count of 150 countries. RwandaAir apparently flies to eighteen (18) destinations including Entebbe, Nairobi, Mombasa, Lusaka, Bujumbura, Juba, Dar-es-Salaam, Douala, Kilimanjaro, Dubai, Johannesburg, Lagos, Brazzaville and Libreville.
