The day 16th January 1932, saw the birth of a child who would be remembered in the world of Tourism on an international Scene, Dian Fossey. Dian was an American zoologist, primatologist and anthropologist. During her childhood life, her parents divorced and she grew up in the company of a step father. She was a brilliant student during her time in school and was extremely interested in animals. When she was a teen, she was a pre-veterinary student at the University of California. Unfortunately, Physics and Chemistry challenged her and then she  decided to concentrate on a degree in occupational therapy at San Jose state college and graduated in the year 1954. Dian had always had a dream of viewing wildlife and had photos of several destinations of Africa given to her by a friend who had visited magnificent breath taking continent. The reigning Pope Francis has just returned from his tour to Africa including Uganda tour and is delighted to announce the uniqueness of Uganda. This trip marks his first step in Africa which according to him was filled with surprise and amusement over the great welcoming sense held amongst the people including Ugandans. The mapping of historical sites and buildings in Kampala completed

The map with pictures of Fifty one (51) historical buildings along with sites that were sieved out of the 100 historical sites and buildings was completed and launched in a strategic move to facilitate the development of Uganda safari tours in Kampala city. The historical buildings featured include Bulange which is the Parliament of the ancient Kingdom of Buganda, Twekobe which is the King of Buganda’s palace and the Churches like Rubaga and Namirembe Cathedrals. These buildings and sites are re-known custodians of history and culture which has at times prompted world travelers to plan safaris to Uganda thus worthy of preservation. The Rwanda development board takes mantle at the pearl of Africa tourism expo

The Rwanda Development Board the national agency responsible for the development of Tourism in Rwanda including popularizing the Rwanda safaris received great recognition at the concluded Pearl of Africa Tourism Expo which was held in Kampala Uganda. The Rwanda Development Board was among the group of exhibitors that showcased their products at the event. Organized by the Uganda Tourism Board, the travel expo brought together a range of tour operators including those that package Uganda safari , travel agents, destination managers and other providers of tourism services exposing their various offers to the world. The Rwanda Development Board decorated its stand in colors of Rwanda National Flag namely; yellow, blue and green. The African golden jackals / wolfs terrorize the ibanda community Uganda

The African Golden Jackals which have been studied of recent and name change proposed to African Golden Wolf due to their closeness to the Wolf other than the jackal is among the impressive Uganda safari products that make the wildlife safaris in Uganda rewarding However, though these species form an impressive tourist product, it would be better if they remained in the protected areas. They have extended their wrath to the Ibanda Community and have so far brought to death to more than 100 domestic animals along with 2 people. The personnel from the Uganda Wildlife Authority along with the Uganda Police have been on the search for these golden jackals but in vain. The entire community is increasingly getting concerned and as a result an emergency meeting was conducted at the headquarters of Nsasi Sub County on Friday last week to find a solution to the problem.
