You start the golden monkey trek at 8:00am in search of these beautiful species alongside a ranger guide who takes you through the trails on the trek. In 2019, Mgahinga gorilla national park is listed as the 3rd “must photograph” travel destination by many youth travelers. After the golden monkey trek, you are driven past the Kigezi highlands and Virunga backdrop to Rwanda’s Akagera National Park. You are driven from Akagera National Park to Nyungwe Forest National 323Km away on a 6-7 hours’ drive. As you continue with your Rwanda wildlife safari, this morning, you go to Nyungwe forest for chimpanzee trekking that starts at 8:00am, you spend about 2-4hours trekking the chimpanzees then after return to the park headquarters. In the forest you also come along several bird species (about 300), several flora species and numerous butterflies. After lunch, you will be driven for about 30 minutes to Nyungwe forest’s Uwinka tourist reception center for the start of the canopy walk. This 2-hour memorable walk takes you on a tour walking 50m above the ground for 200meters which is a breathtaking experience you cannot compare to any other canopy experience or 2 hours experience. You then spend the night at your lodging facility.
